"Hayden Andrew Zapfe was the most enthusiastic, charming, funny, and kind hearted young man there was. Hayden was born August 6th 1998.. This was the day the world became a better place. He had the biggest blue eyes and a smile that would literally light up a room. His pediatric doctor said to us during a visit that “in his 35 years of practice Hayden had the best smile he had ever seen.” Hayden was affected by the disease of addiction in his late teens. He attempted recovery several times without giving up effort.. Inpatient Treatment centers, outpatient treatment centers, and other resources to help. Hayden was doing amazing, he was close to one year clean and had his own business, fell in love with weight lifting, and was truly happy and striving.. Then one night he decided to use and it took this beautiful soul's life."

The Hayden Zapfe Next Step Scholarship Fund is a way to give back to the next recovering individual that is taking that next step in their life. Often times, relapse is preventable and stress can be a factor in that relapse. This scholarship is to assist in eliminating some of the financial stressors that can occur when rebuilding your life from the depths and debt of addiction. The scholarship will be open to the recovery community that can be applied for such things as housing, transportation, furthering education legal fees, or other life essentials that will help expedite the individual to the next step of their recovery. The Next Step Scholarship fund will be an application process that will be submitted and approved by the board of directors of Recover Out Loud, including Buffy Snyder, the mother of Hayden Zapfe, in an efforts to carry on the legacy of her son and his own efforts in recovery. Hayden Zapfe was taking all the next steps, and we want this scholarship to be in remembrance of him to help the next person take their next steps! Your donation can be an opportunity for someone to prevent relapse and a stepping stone to their new life!
Your support and contributions will enable us to match the efforts of those in the recovery community that are working effortlessly towards their own recovery goals to improve their quality of life . Your generous donation will fund our mission in helping those reach the next step in their recovery.
